Through the Arts

Under the artistic direction of Theresa Cardenas, she has presented original dance productions and musical recordings since 2001 with a mission to preserve Hispanic Heritage. Her work was recognized in 2008 by Dance/USA Journal for its innovative work as a culturally specific dance company. The company strives to engage community by fostering discussion, reflection, and transformation while promoting excellence in the art of dance theatre through performance, education, and artistic innovation. In 2011 she was awarded an Artist in Residency to expand the dialouge of creativity, consciousness and community at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
